Dobsovits age 62, of Sea Cliff, NY passed away after a long battle with prostate cancer on March 8, 2010 at 12:05 a.m. He is now home with the Lord and with his father and brothers.?He worked for Splash Sails for 30 years as a sales representative calling upon card and gift shops during his career. He was an active parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church, Glen Cove, NY. John served his parish as a Confirmation Catechist, previous Usher, Choir Member and a member of the Family Ministry. John was always there to devote his time, money and whatever goods you needed for any church event or raffle. John was also a leader with the Boy Scouts for many years. Kindness and generosity were his first and last names. John was born on June 12, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Maryanne and Joseph Dobsovits and married his Chilean sweetheart, Victoria Marin in Chile on October 5, 1981. John never stopped devoting his life to his lovely bride. It truly was a marriage made in heaven.

John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Victoria Dobsovits; his mother, Maryanne Dobsovits, his sisters Mary Booton, Dorothy Dowson, Elizabeth Darlington, and Helen Fluharty, his brother Joseph Dobsovits, Jr. John is also survived by his most precious Labrador Retriever, Viking, and many friends who are considered and always had been treated as his family.?He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Dobsovits,Sr. and his two brothers James and Paul Dobsovits. ?A Memorial Mass will be on Tuesday March 16, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Church, Glen Cove. A reception following the Mass will be held at the Dobosvits home, 10 Grove St, Sea Cliff, NY.
